The diary game: 07/05/2021

Hello everyone😁hope we all had a lovely day cause I did too. I woke up today at 7am cleaned up, took my breakfast and headed to school. I had a morning lecture on pressure ulcers which I will love to share with you hoping it will help everyone on this platform.
To begin,pressure ulcers are localized injuries to the skin, underlining tissues usually over bony prominences or pressure in combination with share.They are classified in stages according to thier level of extension from the skin layer into the bones. The stage 1 ulcer shows redness of the skin layer, stage 2 shows little wound or blisters on skin, stand 3 shows a deep wound extending to flesh and stage 4 deep wound extending to muscles and bones.These ulcers represent a major burden of hospitalization world wide.
Secondly,these ulcers are caused by prolong lying of patient on one position, poor nutrition, dehydration, immobility, wetness from perspiration.From Cameroon statistics it shows that many patients in Yaoundé are at risk of developing theses ulcers and 60,000persons die each year as a direct result of pressure ulcers in the US statistics.The patients most prone to developing ulcers are head injury, spinal injury and orthopedic patients seen in Nigerian statistics.
Thirdly, this ulcers can be managed or prevented by repositioning patient every 2hours, patient should eat healthy food balance diet, drink enough fluids, patients who urinate or stool on the bed should be warn disperse. Education of patient on his or her state is necessary in order for the patient to do the necessary actions even without supervision or presence of nurses and care givers and also patient should do regular exercises to keep body active.
Finally i will love to encourage the Steemit platform members to take this little knowledge on president ulcers seriously so as to help thier sick family members, friends and patients admitted to prevent them from premature death and prolong hospitalization due to pressure ulcers.I hope you all understand and Archieve little know from this.
