Water Borehole Drilling: #club100

Introduction

I am indeed delighted to share with the #steemit community this wonderful technological experience with the Lukas Drilling Company.
I will be explaining the processes involved in carrying out a drilling process particularly for the search of water 💧 from underground reservoirs. Take a deep breath as I walk you through, using my experience, it will be worth it.

Drilling Process

I will begin by presenting my photo with the company as I was part of the drilling process.

The drilling of borehole is mostly done in water deprived areas where there’s difficulty in getting potable drinking water. Before the drilling process is to begin, what is usually done most often is to make sure a geometric study is done based on finding the particular depth of any underground reservoirs in the area. If certain, then the drilling process can commence which is where I am based on.

The drilling machine seen in the image above is a type of drilling machine which uses air as it’s drilling fluid. The main parts involved in the drilling process includes;

  • The drilling bit

  • The drilling stems and rods

  • The core barel

  • The Rotor

  • The Compressor

  • The power system

  • Rotary Jose.

This are actually the main plays in the drilling system which I have mentioned. I will not actually go depth to explain each as it will be a whole course, but rather, I will take into general explaining the drilling process.

The main source of Power is a generator which provide the energy needed to turn the drilling stems and bit. It also provides the energy for the compressor for compressing the required air needed.

The main procedure is done as the drilling bit crushes any soil or rock downhole as it rotates and goes beneath while the air blows the particle out through the rotary hose. The process is quite simple though a little technical as the study takes a minimum of 2 years to know the complete reason for each stage.

Conclusion

It normally takes from 30m to see the second reservoir of water in most cases. The first reservoir is made up of water drainage such as rain water. That level has to be passed to meet the second layer. For example in this my drilling process above, it took 6 hours for the drilling process to meet the second reservoir at a depth of 80 mètres. The above drilling machine can drill up to 500 meters downward in cases where there is difficulty in getting the water reservoir.

what a great content you put out here. I think from this I have in mind of trying it out...

What an experience bro. I wish I had the chance to be part of the process

You have written a quality post. You can make it more educating next time by explaining the working principle of the technology and also the functions of the parts you mentioned.
All the best brother.

Thanks. Lot

Wow I don learn new one today. When next I pass by where a borehole drilling process is been carried out and I'm with a friend, I'll just be telling them the process like a pro🤣🤣 thanks for sharing man

So bro like how much does it cost to establish a borehole in my compound??

It will depend on the depth. This depth will based on the study carried out.

Normally it ranges from 1 million FCFA. (About $1600)
