Recently i have been job hunting alot for my brother and it has led me to many exposure and i have fell victims for some of them. This i thought was happening in other countries but suprising its happening in Cameroon from the main capital Buea.
What i first realised was that people could post jobs with commission and good salaries and went you get to them, they will ask for CV, passport, visa copy and a full picture of yourself. When you ask why, they will tell you they have to present it to the manager . With despiration i fell for some of these lies, later on they will come witn unbareable amounts as commission making you frustrated and refusing the offer.
After falling for like 2 people i began wondering why they were asking such documents and i started refraining from it, if i got to anyone and the person ask for such documents, i closed the conversation.

Few days ago, a fake news was created about a hotel in buea hiring bartender with a starting salary of 70k for 8hrs per day, no measure requirement needed just the basis. This was a mouth watering offer that many rushed for.. after some days the management of that said hotel wrote an announcement saying they didn't offer any job positions or had any vacancy.
This is the main strategy used by scammers now.

they will post a job with a legit company name, give good salary and working conditions. When you apply, they will ask for your ID and full pic and ask you to wait for interviews, worst they may ask for little commission , please note its fake

When they have this important information concerning you, they go about creating post, groups, using your picture as their DP, if they try advertising products for you to buy and you express doubts, they will send pictures and ID of their victims claiming to be them, giving you false assurance that you can hunt them if they fail you.
Having a picture and an ID can raise some assurance which may prompt you to believe and if you send them the money, the end up blocking you. You may hunt the Id but its 90% sure that the person in the ID may be innocent

Thanks to this lady that discovered one of them today though many have fallen victims already. I dont know if this strategy is still very new or old but we all need to be careful.

With the fresh graduate, thats those who recently defended in one field or the other will be on the run for job hunting and such events acts like an eye oppener, i actually dont know the faith of that guy in the ID as he could be physically attacked or arrested someone for a crime he knows nothing about.

lets be vigilant
