Hello everyone, its another day for us to talk on something very sensitive. It may not be that common but sickle cell patients still exist. Though this disease hasn't gotten cure, but it can be totally prevented.
Sickle cell anemia is an inheritable disorder that causes the red blood cell to lose it shape and become sickle. When this happened, the RBC is forced to die young thats lesser than its normal life span thus causing anemia.
When RBC loses its shapes and becomes sickle, they may obscure the flow of blood through blood vessels and this is one major cause of pain. When this happened it is said that the patient is in crisis.
Sickle cell anemia being an inheritable disease, does not have a cure but can properly be managed symptomatic that is if there's pain ,give painkillers, incase of anemia give blood tonic and the cycle continues.
Have you ever seen a sickler in crisis?? Its simple to just say give painkillers but i can't say for sure if its really helping because the pains are severe.
My encounter with a 2 year sickler made me understood the meaning of love. I said to myself: i can't bear my children or child go through this pain.
The mother, father and siblings go through a lot of trauma seeing one of them being through such a pain.
Nothing i gave that child seems working, i felt pain that i couldn't measure.
He was referred but at the end he died, he was innocent but lived a painful short life.
All this could be prevented if the parent knew their genotypes or if they had sacrificed love
Ignorance is no longer an excuse, know your genotype and if you both are compatible, sacrifice the love for your future children. Its not worth it. No if you can pray, it should be now that God should change your genotype now and not when you start producing offspring of SS.

This is a simple table explaining genotype compatibility.
The funny issue here is that this is based on probability. Being AS and marrying an AS does mean that your last child will be an SS the first can be or second or any. The probability is 25% of all the children you may give birth to but the truth is even after that first sickler another may still come. Why not prevent it that to go through all the trauma.
Yeah at first, genotype testing was very very expensive but the prices keep going down and the good news this evening is that the medics have a campaign on this and have drastically reduced the price
Having known this its time to take action, its not a test that should be done after courtship its a test that should be done before relationship itself. so that if you both arent compatible, you let go before the person becomes your foundation and oxygen.
Call now and secure your place. This is an opportunity for everyone in Buea, its not up to 50 spots left.
