Hello great steemians! I believe we are all doing ok. I am excited to participate in this contest my ways of avoiding procrastination by @goodybest which was shared on @steemcameroon by @disconnect, closing today. Procrastination is the act of pushing to the future work that should have been done today.

Procrastination, they say is a thief of time and has been a real problem in my life which I have been working on for five years now. There has been improvement but I still have a long way to go. To solve a problem we must first of all acknowledge its presence and be ready to deal with it, because if no diagnosis is made then no problem will be detected, thus no solution.
Identify the Problem and Accept It
So it all began back in 2017 when I started my networking marketing business and my upline made me understand that promising good work and doing nothing about it will lead me nowhere because he realized that each time he called me I will promise to do a lot and when he calls for follow-up, either I avoid his call or I pick up and start giving him excuses, why I did not do it or when next I will do it and adding other tasks to it. One day he called and addressed the issue and told me if I wanted to continue in that spirit then he is sorry he does not work with such people and that I should know that I cannot go far with it.
Be Willing to Work on it

I took a deep thought process and realized I truly had to do something about it before it worsens, that day I took a leap. I called him back apologized and submitted myself to his mentorship from then I saw a turn around of events in my activity rate.
Be Specific and Intentional
First thing he had been trying to do with me was to organize a seminar in my area and I kept pushing it forward in the name of people are not willing whereas I actually was not telling people anything about it. When I acknowledged my fault, first thing he did was set a date for the seminar in two weeks and asked me to prepare flyers, send him copies and start inviting people too. With all the work put in the seminar held on that date and was successful for which many people still remember me to this day because it greatly impacted their lives and health too.
Write Down your Every Plan
Image
He made me to understand the need to keep a diary and to always write down my plans inside and to visit and revisit it till I am done working on it then I can move on to the next thing because, it helps us to fight forgetfulness.
Do One Thing at a time
Here he told me to always break down my plan of work so that I can concentrate on one thing at a time, that when the work stands in a bulk it is hard to concentrate on it as the other tasks which seem easy will keep distracting you and at the end you may do none.
Avoid Distractions
Image
He made me identify the most distracting activity in my life which was scrolling through social media platforms, I had to delete the apps from phone, he told me to download them back, that deleting is not the solution but knowing how to resist it was the real problem. That one has been the most difficult, on some days it works just well and others, its horrible. He also told me to avoid reading books inside the phone because there will always be phone calls and messages which I will not be able to ignore.
Never Stop Working on Yourself
Image
He told me if I keep trying to perfect what I know that is doing my best to practice fighting procrastination even just for 5minutes a day everyday it will help than thinking that I can completely kick out immediately.
As human as I am I have not completely fought it out of my life but I am working on it everyday, which is why I succeeded in putting up this post today despite every distraction I had.
