What is in your community or sector, where do you live?
Hello great steemians, how are you all doing? I trust we are all doing well. I am most delighted to partake in this contest what is in your community or sector, where do you live.
What is in my community or sector? PINEAPPLES!!! When I got to Yaounde city, the driver who had to bring us here first of all charged us 10000frs for a hiring fare and we shouted we pleaded with him that we had 5000frs and he said when we get here we will see for ourselves; thank God he was a friend so he was a little lenient with us, 45mins later and he is still driving undisturbed by traffic and I asked are you sure you know where you are taking us to and he said let us hang on and see, he then started telling us stories of how there is enough “bush meat” and pineapples in this part of the Centre Region. After almost 2hours ride from Biyem Assi we got to Awae Village, a town in the outskirts of Yaounde on the highway leading to; Ayos, Akonolinga, Bertoua and beyond. At the Toll gate what I took note of was the pineapple market that was there, when I asked, I was told pineapple is the cash crop of the area. We finally settled down and decided to visit the pineapple market, in trying to tease the sellers we asked for pineapples to taste and we were shown a heap that had been kept aside that we should make our choice, I was so shocked that I couldn’t bring myself to eat more than one slice.

After settling down and as the days went by, I realized that despite pineapples being all over the place, it was not as cheap and as I expected and I had not seen a single farm of it and I was told that getting to the farms was not easy. There are no motorable farm to market roads and that if a car was not four wheel drive it could not go there, talkless of when it rains, making the pineapples to be expensive since the farmers have to spend so much to get their produce to the market. Implying the real business people have to hire trucks and take to the farm so they can load their merchandise by themselves to minimize cost and increase profitability.

When I first heard of a job in Yaounde I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I will have to live this far from the city of Yaounde for three main reasons; first of all, the Awae I knew about is a quarter in the city of Yaounde, then the first person who directed me here told me I will be paying 200frs from town to this place so I knew for sure it will be in town and lastly I pictured working in a community that will permit me to build a small business on the side so I envisaged being in town more so I could have easy access to a huge population. In all the place is a beautiful place too, a growing town with future prospects.

Oh ! How I love making my fulere with pineapples. They look fresh and healthy too.

Transportation is really a problem of farm to market roads. I just hope the government sees into it.
What a beautiful little girl! And you know a secret? She's my little best friend and I will love to meet her one day. Let me whisper something to you👂, my best friend is called Yasmine and offcourse she's also very beautiful and the best.

The most i can think of while reading is juicing those pineapples daily. That's actually one of my best fruits.
Apart from the distance from town I'm pretty sure by now you've seen more advantages living there than disadvantages.
