Greetings my fellow steemians. It’s another great day and I will be sharing with you more about the importance of a honey within our environment. The honey bee is a great pollinator and most of the plant species surely depends on them. For this reason, it’s clear that Without the bees there will be little or no food to eat. Apart from being pollinators, honey bees also produce their food known as honey and also have some related vital products in their hives as will be seen below;

Despite the economic importance of a honeybee, an agriculturalist care less of the honey products from the hive but cares of the work of a honey bee as pollinator.

The agricultural gain of honey bees is 20 times more than the total value of honey and beeswax and other beehive products.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, bee pollination accounts for about $15 billion in added crop value”

Pollination is important to almost close to 250,000 species of flowering plants that depend on honey bees to transfer the pollen from flower anther to stigma for reproduction.

Honey bees are excellent pollinators because their lives are spend collecting pollen which is a protein source. When a bee gets in contact with a flower, the bee hairs on his body attracts pollen grains via electrostatic forces. Stiff hairs within their legs helps them to take the pollen into pockets on their body, and then takes it back to their nest or hives. Most of the lonely bees at times focus on a single. A good number of plant species need this type of pollen distribution. This kind is known as cross-pollination and it helps in the production of viable seeds. This process of collecting pollen is hard and needs a lot of energy. There are many flowers that attracts and reward bees with nectar, which is a mixture of sugars and water made by plants.

These honey bees as pollinators play a a great role in every forest ecosystem. They assist in the growth of trees, flowers, as well as other plants. These plants produced food and shelter for living organisms thanks to the great role of bees. It’s their interconnection within an ecosystem that helps bring a number different plant species we have today.

We cannot day honey bees are not important because without them there will be no gardens, no food and our plates will always be empty. Let’s do all to protect our bees.

Furthermore, the bees do not only pollinate but equally have some other products from the beehive like honey, beeswax, royal jelly, propolis, and venom. All these are exploited for various health and nutritional used.

Honey is a pure organic product produce by bees which is very important for economic and social purposes. It’s a vital beehive product.
