Greetings to all my fellow steemians. It’s another bright day and today I will be sharing with you the Role of honey bees in relation to honey production and comb alignment in the beehive.
Inside view of a beehive during comb formation.
Worker honey bees make hives to keep their food (honey) which they will use as food within winter when places are cold and they cannot go out of the hives to look for food. These honey bee hives are form of six-sided tubes, and thus include; shapes for the honey production as they need small wax that can hold more honey. Some hives develop eggs sometimes which are dark in color over time or remain light in color.
Wild honey bees make their own hives in rock fissures and hollow trees where they believe the environment is good for their colony. Just the same to the habits of managed honey bees, they make their hives by eating wax until it is soft, then close large quantities of honey wax into the cells of a honeycomb. When worker bees are together in a hive, the hive temperatures must surely be around 30 to 35 degrees Celsius because such temperatures helps to control texture of wax in the hive.
The worker bees live span is just six weeks which they do work that helps the survival of their colony. A worker bee at 10 days old form a unique wax-producing gland within her abdomen. Workers food are gather from different flowering plants as they carry nectar which mixes with a specialized enzyme. After going back to the hive, the worker bee use the nectar harvested to another worker. The transfer of this liquid from the nectar evaporates and now becomes honey.
The glands of worker bees turns the sweet contents of honey to wax. Workers eat these pieces of wax until they finally turn soft and later add the chewed wax to the honeycomb for comb construction.
Many of us just ate honey but never care to know the steps through which the worker bees passed through to produce it. When you are into bee farming, it’s easy and you as a farmer respect the role of bees in food forage and other environmental importance. Thanks for reading.

I did not know how those worker bees use to suffer to make honey. The honey bee is a very active and committed insect....we can learn from them

Nice piece of work I have learned a lot. The bee is a very busy insect at times I will take some time just looking at how the honey comb is formed then I I begin to imagine how hard working the bee is. Thanks for sharing

Ahhhhh
Thank you so much for sharing.
I must say that it's not easy doing this. Me for one who, I easily get irritated, so working here will really be difficult for me.

Wow éducative, when i was young i used to love honey and i always dreamt of visiting a bee hive to see how they work, especially after our biology classes on bees.

This is awesome bro. You know being a social insect and being organized the way it's can teach us a great lesson on how to socialize especially in platforms like steemit. God bless you for sharing

Wow! You must be a bee farmer, thanks for the knowledge shared! I love consuming honey but I fear the bees so badly 😂
Thank you
