One God one Nation

Africa was a quite and peaceful continent back in the 14th century. They had their own “gods” and were firm to their traditional beliefs. Nothing was known about this continent but because of some of the barbaric traditions like the killing of twins led to the advancement of Christian religion to African. Today it’s not still about what was before. There are more than thousand of churches now here and there but yet still preaching the same person Jesus Christ. What worries me most are situations where you see different churches renting in one same building in the name of evangelism but he question I ask is that why can’t all them assemble as one and preach the gospel?

We are serving a living God

Sometimes many turn to ask if it’s now business or still prayers. Some leaders of these churches as well still quarrel among themselves and believe so much that their own Gods are stronger than others. I really wonder if there are two Gods.
We all have one God and we all are a nation. Be it Muslim, Catholic, Protestant or what so ever we are worshiping one God the Almighty. Whether we called him Allah, or Yahweh or any name we use nowadays it’s still the same God.

The Europe missionaries started entering Africa to help first stop the Muslim colonization of the north moving to the south. They preach the gospel which was their own tradition to the Africans. The missionaries letter discovered the reach potentials in African and with their advancement, they encourage other European missionaries to venture too into African. While in African in the context of preaching the gospel which they believed was superior to our African tradition, they started colonizing our territories by signing treaties. The first missions to venture into the coast of Africa were the English Baptist Missionaries, the Basel mission just to name a few. This coming of European tradition have greatly rooted into the African tradition as we now think and do things like them.

What baffles me now is the increase number of youths jobless praying day and night but yet no change. When u compare to a country like China on my last visit I discovered they believe so much on their personal “god” and are doing ok. Is it that our own Gods have abandoned us?
The many churches have confused many around most especially in the quest for miracles. Others pray and it works but most of whom I have passed across remain the same.
I think it’s high time while praying we should be looking for jobs for God to bless. Our preachers can as well organize training seminars on how to enrich ourselves and reduce this high unemployment.

When I started to trace back during the period of Christianity in Africa and look at the situation now, seriously I got confused because I do not know which one to serve now. Everyone knocks at my door making me feel my own God is inferior as compared to their own. I leave all with this question: can we not assemble all the churches to be one since it’s the same God we are preaching?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Christianity with us. It baffles want to come to think that six churches can be hosted the same building instead of it hosting one church . What is really the need to divide their opinions over Iwant God

They preach the gospel which was their own tradition to the Africans.

Great write up sir. But The gospel is nobody's tradition , the gospel is God's way of reaching out to mankind which is for all. It's a lifestyle it's good news. Just that aFrica was still in the dark after the Eastern part had already caught the good news. But today the greatest of God's generals are right here in Africa. Thanks for sharing though, I like the insides you have.

Bro as it is been said salvation is personal u just need to follow ur heart. The problem is not even going to church but doing the right things at the right time.

I have discovered this too in most neighborhoods filled with churches. My prayer is that they should preach nothing but the gospel of Christ.
