The Negative Impacts of Bushfires to our Environment

Warm greetings to all my steemit friend. It’s another great day and we must say thanks to the one who created us. We are know that when you see fire it means danger, even the sun from where it takes it light and heat is from fire. We are just a month into the dry season and is characterized by increased intensity of sunshine which have led to the drying up of some water catchment areas, drying up of some vegetation’s and the increase in health situations on human beings like cough.
Since all is dry and under high temperatures, we are already experiencing the presence of bush fires in our communities. We are know the damages this bushfires do to our society always within this period all time. So I would like to share with you the causes of this bushfires.

Lets say No to Bushfires

WHAT CAUSES BUSHFIRES?

What facilitate bush fires is because the vegetation is too dry within this period and the environmental conditions are of high temperatures so anything can light up fire. Must of all these happen because;

• Slash-and-burn: The Dey season is always a period of farm preparation and many farmers usually do more of clearing works. Many clear and burn while others just burn before they can then till the farms. This is one of the highest problems that increase bushfires within our society.
• Burning of Grazing lands: During this period, there is always shortages food(pasture) for livestock most especially cattle rearing. Within this time, the cattle farmers do burnt down the dry vegetation for fresh one to grow. This helps a lot but the impact is always very negative to the environment.
• Smoking within the forest. In our communities we all can bare witness that dry season is characterized with many resilient activities. There is always hunting and most of those in charge majority of them smoke and in case the cigarettes have not lose fire completely when thrown on dry vegetation obviously fire will catch and the results just only from that small stick will not be good.
• Poor honey harvesting: When harvesting honey, it’s always advisable to use fire which can produce smoke to dry the bees from one direction for honey to be harvested. Harvesting within the dry season sometimes is not easy as some of the bees might be aggressive and if the fire drops on the grass nothing more than fire.

Looking at this poor management of human activity, those involved will not see any problem when there is bush fire. They are so just ignorant and do not know they are first helping to produce more CO2 gas which is a Green House Gas. When such gases are produced to the atmosphere, they help increase our world’s temperatures.
The vegetation that get burnt is a big lost because the fire reduce the carbon well function which now encourages the circulation of GHG’s into the atmosphere.
Some other people lost their livestock and crops in their farms just because of a careless uncontrollable mistake.

Thanks for reading but this should sound as a reminder to all to put more caution and fire measure to help stop the destruction of our natural environment. There is one day you will go pay huge some of money in the hospital just to have oxygen but why the forest which provides free oxygen was brought down just by a cigarette of 50frs.
