I am really grateful to be part of This topic as I remember a surprising act of generosity towards me. It was 2018 when I recorded my song titled, "yeye apprentice" . I sent this song to a friend in the U.S via WhatsApp. After my friend listened to my song, she sent it to her friend who also lives in the U.S.A . This friend of hers then sent 80,000frs to my name through western union. I woke up from sleep and calmly took up my phone to check my messages in the morning following the day that the money was sent to me without my consent just to discover a message from my Friend with a western union receipt having my name. At first, I had no idea what the money was for, so I messaged her back, asking what the money was for. She then told me that it was for me, as a gift from a close friend of hers. At first I could not believe it. I told my family and neibour about it and they told me that it might be a scam. I finally decided to go to the western union bank to find out. When I arrived the western union bank, I filled out my receiver's information and passed it with my National Identity Card to the operator in charge of verifying the data and then I sat down quietly on the waiting desk. In about ten minutes after, the operator called me to sign the receipt of the money. After I signed, she handed me back I National Identity Card and 80,000frs. I went back home with the money and everyone at home were deeply surprised...
This act of generosity towards me was a big source of encouragement towards continuously building a career in music. It has been a difficult journey so far, but I aim to be able to help young and less privileged cameroonians who are new to "show biz" and art of any kind, by organizing contests , mentorship, tutorials through online classes and formal means of educating them.
Music is a very essential part of life that can be used to tackle major problems of the world, be it global warming, war ,hunger , unemployment, just any problem. Since our brains are actually wired to respond to sounds and rythms , we can easily be subconciously and consciously influenced by the sounds, images and words that we are exposed to. Helping new talents to bring out their full potential to the world would enhance a collective mental transformation .
I am working hard enough to improve my skills in music, business and management every day in order to be successful in "showbiz" so that I can be generous to others. I'm not exactly sure of how soon I would realize my ambition, because it is generally really difficult to be successful in music here in Cameroon, especially when one has limited resources.
Above is a screenshot of the woman shine business world WhatsApp group chat,in which I am a member. It is made up of supportive women around the world, who pray daily and support and advice each other. They have encouraged me a lot with words of hope and encouragement , to continue with my ambitions to be successful and help others to climb the success ladder in lesser time than I did.
