Steemit Engagement Challenge S4-W2 | Take a picture and draw - by @temitopef

Good day everyone. Happy new week, It's the second week of Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 4 and I will be dropping my first entry for this week in this community. The topic of this week's contest from this community is "Take a Picture and Draw". Today I will be discussing drawing and I would also show you my drawing skills.

Drawing can be defined as the technique of producing an image, picture, or diagram using a pencil, pen, chalk, charcoal, or crayon. It is a way of showing one thoughts and imagination using some manipulating lines and colors.

We started learning how to draw when we were little in our basic schools because they want us to be creative, think deeply, develop skills, and ideas and expand hand-eye coordination. Drawing is something that shows the true beauty of a picture and each drawing has a deep meaning attached to it.

Drawing is so important in some business as it is used to communicate technical details about a project, example of a business that requires drawing includes architecture, graphic design, tattoo artist, painting and sculpture, and so on.

Furthermore, being a good and professional artist that draws perfectly requires patience, intelligence, serious learning, and creativity, drawing can be used to communicate in many ways, it can be used to tell stories, to inspire, reveal some things, educate, and can also be used to entertain people.

I just took a picture of a flower I planted in the first season of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. The contest involves taking care of the planet and I used my used bottle, recycled it, and used it to grow a flower. The flower had just two leaves when I planted it then, now it has grown multiple leaves.

I choose this picture because its something I love and care for, ever since I planted the flower, I used to care for it and water it and by so doing I've grown to love the flower, and now I want to draw this beautiful flower and show it to my fellow Steemians how much the flower has grown over time and also to show my drawing skill with the flower.

Materials needed for the drawing are:

I drew the recycled plastic I used to plant the flower with the vertical line on the bottle and its bottom.

Then, I drew the stem of the flower and part of the leaves

After finishing the drawing of the leaves and stem, I drew the blade of the leaves and colored the bottled black making it represent the soil where the root of the flower is being placed.

After that, I colored the leaves of the flower with a green crayon, then my drawing is ready.

If someone took my picture and draw, I would be so happy because I have always loved artwork, even though I don't know much about drawing but I do appreciate the beauty and effort taken to draw a picture, so seeing a drawing of myself would make me so happy whether or not the person got the drawing perfectly. I would appreciate the person's effort and keep the picture very close.

I do not face much challenges just that drawing is not easy, I made some mistakes along the line and I had to erase and redraw just to make it look like the original picture I took, also my crayon gives me a tough time, maybe because I've kept it for a while, I had to use my hand to remove the excess to make it presentable.

If I were to rate my drawing on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give myself 9/10 because the drawing looks like the original just not perfect like a professional.

To the second question, Yes, I can continue drawing because I know that for my drawing to look perfect I have to undergo a lot of training and practice but I don't have much time because of the nature of my job, so I can only draw at my free time.

I don't think I can take drawing as a profession even if I have everything at my disposal because drawing is beyond just drawing anything, it requires a lot of creativity and pouring one feeling and imagination into an image when drawing. I'm not too perfect at drawing and for me to be a professional, I have a lot way to go in learning about drawing.

It feels so good seeing myself drawing again, I was so happy while drawing the flower because the drawing took me back to my childhood days and as we know that being happy with what we do is part of personal growth and the feeling of being able to draw again today is everything.

Drawing is a beautiful technique that is used to pass a lot of information, it is beyond the beauty of the drawing alone but also the information the drawing is passing across. I have always loved making my drawing look good, if not perfect because I'm not a professional in that field. Today drawing again took me down memory lane and I enjoyed the time spent while drawing the flower, this is where I will be stopping at the moment, thank you for reading.
