Greetings to everyone here on STEEMIT. I'm happy to be here. Today I wish to share my expectations of motherhood and my experience when I became a mother.

Being a mother was something I had always wished for upon reaching adulthood. However, my experiences turned out to be quite different from my expectations. It all started when I was pregnant. Around two to three months in, I visited the hospital, and the doctor told me I needed bed rest. I felt sad because I knew I had to work extra hard to ensure a safe delivery during this period.

When I was four months pregnant, the baby started kicking. I told my husband, "I don't understand this anymore." At my next clinic visit, when asked if I had any complaints, I hurriedly told the midwife that something was always moving inside my stomach. The midwife explained that the baby had started being active. I was overwhelmed with joy. From that day, I began talking to the baby in my womb whenever I felt movement.

This experience was a revelation to me, and I want to share it with those preparing for motherhood. I had always wondered how someone grows inside another person and how it feels to carry a baby, but experiencing it firsthand was different.

During this period, whenever I sat down, I would rub my stomach and tell the baby, "I love you so much, and I can't wait to see you." Sometimes, when the baby moved, I would say, "My boy, don't worry. Mummy will buy your biscuits and eat them so you can enjoy them in the stomach because I know you will love them." I often asked my husband to prepare okra soup for me. This craving was something I had anticipated before getting pregnant.

On the day of delivery, you truly feel and witness the handiwork of God. After the process, I heard a tiny voice, and guess what? It was the person I had been discussing biscuits and okra with. When the baby was placed in my arms, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging to motherhood. I checked all the baby's parts and thought, "This baby resembles me." Seeing my baby made me forget everything I had experienced in the labor room.

Being a mother has not been an easy task. With babies, you need to adapt to their schedule. Some sleep during the day and are awake at night, wanting to play while you are exhausted from a busy day. As time passes, the baby starts communicating with you, even though you don't understand each other. Sometimes, it feels like the baby is calling for me. Being a mother is the best experience I have ever had.

At a certain stage, the baby starts developing teeth, which can cause a fever. I did not know this until my aunts told me, which helped ease my worries. Now we are at the crawling stage, which is not easy. The baby scatters everything in the house, cries over minor things, and requires constant attention.

This can be frustrating, but as a mother, you need to understand and adapt.Being a mother is not easy, but it is a rewarding experience. You just need to understand your baby and the changes they go through.
To conclude, I have had a wonderful experience and am eagerly anticipating the continued growth and changes in my baby. I believe these experiences will help me become a better mother, both within my family and in society at large.
