The Nkwen Women Empowerment Conference (NWEF) successfully held its inaugural event on December 20th and 22nd, 2024, with the theme "We Love and Uphold Every Woman." This significant program took place at the Nwen Fon's palace, focusing on training and empowering women to unlock their skills and enhance their contributions to society.

The conference began with a welcome address by Frinwie Loveline Muma, the General Coordinator of NWEF. She acknowledged the diverse backgrounds of the women attending from various communities in Nkwen, drawing an analogy between their differences and the stones builders use to create a stronger foundation.

Following her speech, HRH Fon Azehfor III delivered an empowering talk, highlighting the importance of supporting the girl child across African communities. He posed a thought-provoking question: "Who said the girl child can't be a successor?" He observed that, despite demanding schedules, many girls return home to care for their parents and siblings in their later years.

The conference included a training session on unlocking skills, where participants were encouraged to invest time in self-improvement and to identify and refine their talents. An additional session focused on hygiene education, covering essential practices for maintaining personal health.

To enhance the event's atmosphere, there were musical performances by artists Ivy Africa and Zita Light. who showcased their original songs in Nkwen. The conference concluded with a vibrant display of arts, featuring exhibitions of embroidery, cultural dances, and traditional meals.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to various partners, including the Pan African Organization for Research Community Radio for Rural Development, San Paulo's Pharmacy in Mile 4 Nkwen, and Awabeng Renal Care Foundation. Their financial, physical, and moral support contributed significantly to the success of the conference.
