Greetings,
I finally decided to upgrade my 7 year old work horse Macbook Pro. Two things made me take the plunge;
- I was surprised by how much I can still get for my old computer on eBay.
- The benchmark tests and testimonials from some pro level users.
There are some issues related to Big Sur, the new operating system running on the machine, but those will soon be resolved no doubt. Anyone buying an M1 machine at this point is effectively a beta tester.
I am typing this from the Mac Mini, and I have to say I've been enjoying it for the last couple of days. It's blazing fast ( at least compared to my old machine) and dead silent. I've also got a flashy new monitor that makes everything look amazing. I will upload an unboxing of that display next.
Halleluyah, I can use Davinci Resolve again. I can imagine this machine will be all I need for the next 5 years.
