Solo Hiking on Arran [ASMR] No Music

in hive-196037 •  3 years ago

A hike up one of Arran's mountains in November.

I saw my first BROCKEN SPECTRE at the top!

This mountain is one of my favourites for a short-ish winter walk when the days are short, or as part of a longer walk around the horseshoe that takes in Beinn Tarsuinn and Bein Nuis when the days are longer.

It's pronounced Ben-A-Kleevan. Head up Glen Rosa and turn left off the main path just after the Garbh Allt bridge and go up the right-hand side of the river. Then turn north towards the peak after the second kissing gate. It's a bit boggy but there is a path of sorts that takes you up onto the shoulder of the hill.

The cairn is at the top of Cnoc Breac, the first hill you go over on the way to the mountain top. There's no cairn on Beinn a'Chliabhain. There might be an OS Survey bolt, but I've never found it.

The full meditation video is available on my Serenity Scotland channel here, with some lovely chilled-out music:

The Fjällräven Keb trousers were excellent. Having those vents at the side is such a great feature, especially when climbing the side of the Garbh Allt, when I could literally hear my heart pounding in my ears. There's a full list of my clothing and gear down below.
