This is basically a set of readings from Chris Hedges' book Death of the Liberal Class. Chris' words provide an insightful analysis of the post democratic world we live in, and show us how we got here, so are always worth listening to. Chris I think is growing into the Chomsky of his day (which is not meant to dismiss Chomsky too early).
The film is roughly broken up into sections or themes entitled The Corporation State, Inverted Totalitarianism, The Future of Obedience, the Triumph of Illusion, etc, before concluding with Resistance, Rebellion and Anger & Courage. It reminds me a lot of We, based on Arundhati Roy’s words.
The film is accompanied and sometime punctuated by images, oftentimes processed to negative, and, it seems to me, not always relevant or apposite, and has an ambient soundtrack by Clark, which does serve to break the readings up so we can digest them, before moving onto the next topic.
