There is a lot of mystery surrounding the IELTS speaking test, most of which is spread by lazy teachers. Ther reality is that you do not need to use so-called advanced language or impress your examiner with other weird words. Instead, you should just aim to answer the questions openly and honestly. The most important thing is that you communicate. The examiner is not your enemy... he or she just wants to give you a fair grade.
For this video I sat down with Sebestian, who is from Bangladesh. He answered my mock test questions very well and would surely have scored 8.5 or 9.0 for his performance. His English skills are fantastic and he speaks like an American person.
