Swimming in the floods each day it rains has been a normal. This type of normality could only be found in places where the leaders would prefer to take money behind closed doors and endanger the lives and properties of an entire community.
Lets agree that government had been a bunch of failure what about the sanity of you and I. Why build houses without considering drainage. You bought a piece of land say 50x100 meters and you make your fencing therewith and when the rain comes it has and must find it way.
Talking about poor drainage system is one factor which is causing flooding in this area and yet people are so naive and very smart when it comes to putting our environment in perils. How can people dispose their waste in the running waters. Because waste management is not looked into by the government and don't have a place to discard their waste so when the rain comes it becomes an avenue for their waste disposals and the water ways are blocked causing flooding cases recorded here.
Man's activities in the environment must come back to him in what ever way. This should make one's acts on the environment done wisely knowing that what we do in the environment must hurt us .
Yes, flood is a natural thing but the activities of man increases the rate of flood records.
Around the environment where I made this video is a community which host two notable companies though one is not functioning at the moment but the other is fully active. The companies are 7up bottling company and International Glass Industry all in Aba Abia state Nigeria. Presently IGI i.e the glass Force is down but 7up is in full production.
Any community with such a company should be proud but I won't put the blame on the company because the community relations I guess have what matters most to them. This flooding in this axis became worse as 7up opted for an underground tunnels and I didn't want to capture the company yard in this video I will be doing that next time. When it rains, the itself is not free from turning into a pool of Bethesda of the new generation.
It pays to be environmental friendly. Be eco-friendly and most of the ill health which comes with walking in the floods will reduce and everyone will be happy.
