La Gaita Tambora is part of an Afro-Venezuelan tradition and has its origin in the villages located on the southern shore of Lake Maracaibo.
This drum is interpreted in any celebration that merits it and of course it is given with greater force in religious holidays such as Christmas, the Day of the Innocent, Etc. On January 1st there is an important party where the chimbangueles and the tambora gaita are played with great force as well as other genres in the south of the lake.
La Gaita Tambora es parte de una tradición afro-venezolana y tiene su origen en los pueblos localizados en la costa del sur del Lago de Maracaibo.
Este tambor se interpreta en cualquier celebración que lo amerite y por supuesto se dá con mayor fuerza en las fiestas religiosas como la navidad, el día de los inocentes, etc. El 1ero. de enero se hace una importante fiesta donde se tocan con mucha fuerza los chimbangueles y la gaita de tambora así como otros géneros en el sur del lago.
