Red Dead Redemption is the second game in the Red Dead series & a spiritual successor to 2004's Red Dead Revolver. RDR is set during the decline of the American frontier in 1911 and follows John Marston, a former outlaw whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his services as a hired gun to bring three members of his former gang to justice.
The game is played from a third-person perspective. The game features an open world, a fictionalized version of the Western United States and Northern Mexico, by horseback and on foot. A slow motion mechanic called "Dead Eye" allows players to mark multiple targets & obliterate them in propper gunsliger action. In addition, the game features a morality system, that affects honor, fame and how other characters respond to the player.
The game's development took over five years. RDR became one of the most expensive video games ever made (2010). Rockstar improved its game engine, conducted extensive research, including field trips to Washington, D.C., analyzed classic Western films & hired professional actors to perform the body movements through motion capture.
Thanks for watching & have an awesome day! :D
