There are some other video platforms with user-generated content that have gone to a completely pay-for method for both creators and users and they basically aren't getting any adoption at all. Services like Netflix can charge because they offer high-level professional premium content, as opposed to used-generated content. If you want to grow a video sharing or any social media platform it has to both be free and offer a way for content creators to earn from their videos.
