A massive blaze has ripped through forests in Russia’s Darkylakh region in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
A large-scale firefighting operation is underway, with many local residents and volunteers lending a hand too.
Local officials claim that 12 districts in the surrounding area are currently affected, but it’s been a tough summer across the entire nation.
Russia’s Aerial Forest Protection Service has said there are around 416 active forest fires in the Russian Federation, with over 6,000 people and 35 aircraft deployed to combat them.
