- “So they ate and were well filled, For He gave them their own desire.
- THEY WERE NOT DEPRIVED OF THEIR CRAVING; but while their food was still in their mouths,
- The wrath of God came against them, and slew the stoutest of them, and struck down the choice men of Israel.”
Psalm 78:29-31 (NKJV)
• Every believer should learn how to walk with God in contentment, learn to be satisfied with whatever God has made available for him or her.
“Now godliness with Contentment is great gain.”
1 Timothy 6:6 (NKJV)
- A believer should not persuade, pester, God to do what He does not want to do for him or her.
“And He gave them their request but sent leanness into their soul.”
Psalm 106:15 (NKJV) - Whatever may be God’s decision on your subject of prayer should be accepted by you—without querying or questioning His authority, because His wisdom is infinite.
- “Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer it.
- “Would you indeed annul [nullify] My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified?”
Job 40:2,8 (NKJV)
• As a believer, you must know that God has the prerogative to answer, grant, your request or not.
- If He chooses to grant what you have requested from Him, good; and if He does not grant the request, good also (Romans 9:15,16,20,21).
- The Israelites, in the wilderness, craved for meat; God did grant their desire, but with sorrow and plague (Number 11:18-20; Psalm 78:29-31).
“But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was aroused against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very great plague.”
Number 11:33 (NKJV) - You should trust God’s wisdom and judgement in every matter of your life.
- If God in His infinite wisdom deemed fit that you should have a thing, then receive it with thanks, and appreciate Him for it.
- Albeit, if at the same time He determines that the thing is not okay for you, though you like to have it, you should just accept His decision–believe His judgement, because His wisdom is infinite.
- You should be willing to accept God’s Yes as well as His No on every matter of your life.
• Whatever you pester or badger God to do for you; against His will, plan, or programme for your life, will eventually bring sorrow.
- Whatever you crave for, against His will or plan, MIGHT be given to you, but it would surely not be without sorrow.
- However, whatever He chooses to do for you, and you cooperate with Him, such would be without sorrow.
"The blessing of the LORD brings [true] riches, and He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God]."
Proverbs 10:22 (Amp.) - Allow His will to be DONE in your life!
- "But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
- Now these things became our examples, to the extent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.
- Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition [instruction], upon whom the ends of the ages have come."
1 Corinthians 10:5,6,11 (NKJV)
• You will not fail in Jesus’ name.
