7 “EVEN A TREE HAS MORE HOPE! If it is cut down, IT WILL SPROUT AGAIN AND GROW NEW BRANCHES.
8 Though its ROOTS have grown old in the earth and its stump decays,
9 AT THE SCENT OF WATER IT WILL BUD AND SPROUT AGAIN LIKE A NEW SEEDLING."
Job 14:7-9 (NLT)

• There is hope for someone who has Root in God. The devil may attack; but If you are steadfast in God, and your Root is in Him, there is hope for you. Your roots in God gives you hope in life!

  • The text of this teaching says there is hope for a tree that is cut down. That at the scent of water It would bud and sprout again and grow new branches (Job 14:7,8).
  • The Word of God is the water needed by a believer who has been battered, for him or her to sprout again. Water is a type of God's Word: "THAT HE MIGHT SANCTIFY AND CLEANSE HER WITH THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD" (Ephesians 5:26 NKJV).
    READ: Ezekiel 16:9; John 15:3; 17:17
  • The most important thing is, the roots of the tree, the believer, should remain in the soil or the earth (Job 14:8). Your Root in God, or steadfastness in God, gives the hope that you would sprout again. As long as the Root remains in the earth, soil, there is hope for the tree.
  • The undoing; downfall, ruin, or the cause of the ultimate failure or loss, of any believer who is going through a problem or predicament is, when he or she uprooted himself or herself in God—the family of God where such is planted:
6 AS YOU THEREFORE HAVE RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS THE LORD, SO WALK IN HIM, 7 ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN HIM AND ESTABLISHED IN THE FAITH, AS YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT, ABOUNDING IN IT WITH THANKSGIVING" (Colossians 2:6,7 NKJV).
  • Your stand in God is the hope you have. The text says, no matter how old the Roots, as long as It remains in the earth, in the soil, It will sprout again at the scent of water (Job 14:9). Its stump might have died in the ground, but If the Roots remained in the soil, It would sprout again (Job 14:8).
  • Your steadfastness in Christ Jesus, living by the principles of the Word of God (James 1:22-25), makes you a candidate for flourishing; regardless the number of the years of the predicament. Therefore, there is hope for you!

• What sustains or strengthens your Roots in God is, the understanding of Him; what you know of God and do practice according to the knowledge of His Word.

  • This equally determines your stability and strength in the faith. The knowledge and understanding of God you had, determines your conviction in Him, and that enhances your Christian life or living.
  • If you would always need to meet someone—a minister or prophet or whoever—for every little problem in your life; It means you would not know what to do whenever you face a challenge, and that means you are still shallow in the knowledge and understanding of God.
  • This may be all right for someone who is still a baby in the things of God, a young convert, but then, God would still want the young believer to grow in the knowledge and understanding of Him; for his or her conviction to be strengthened and not be running to and fro again when in any problem or predicament (Ephesians 4:14).
  • When you go to someone for prayers, when you have a need; your need might be met, but that is done based on the knowledge and understanding of the person or minister about God whom you have gone to meet—the minister's faith in God.
  • Your conviction is the strength of your Roots in God. This strength comes through the knowledge and understanding of God. This conviction can also be called, your trust and faith in God. In all, the conviction is a product of the working knowledge and understanding of God that you have.
  • The person or ministers you run to, for prayers, whenever you had a need; would only be allowed to do that for awhile. When the duration of time which God expected you to grow elapses, and you have not, He might not answer the prayers which such a person or ministers prays for you again (1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Hebrews 5:12).
  • God wants you to grow in your relationship and fellowshipping with Him. He wants to build intimacy with every child of His, individual believer in Christ Jesus; that there would be no intermediary or go-between in His relationship with any believer in Christ Jesus.
  • And this could only happen when you grow in the knowledge and understanding of Him, which would strengthen your conviction in Him.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • If there is any sickness in your body, receive your healing now in Jesus' mighty name.
  • Whatever God has not planted by God that is working against your health and wellness is cursed and completely uprooted in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
    Peace!
