RECEIVING AN IDEA FROM GOD 1
"SO MY GOD GAVE ME THE IDEA TO CALL TOGETHER ALL THE NOBLES AND LEADERS OF THE CITY, along with the ordinary citizens, for registration. I had found the genealogical record of those who had first returned to Judah. This is what was written there."
Nehemiah 7:5 (NLT)
"THEN MY GOD PUT IT INTO MY HEART TO GATHER THE NOBLES, the rulers, and the people, that they might be registered by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of those who had come up in the first return, and found written in it."
Nehemiah 7:5 (NKJV)
• You would have to trust in God to help you in your leadership assignment. You allow God to give or stir your heart for divine ideas on how to lead the people entrusted to your care. Even on your household, your family, you need divine ideas.
- You constantly need to hear from Him in order to succeed in your leadership assignment. Nehemiah said God gave him an idea, put into his heart what to do (Nehemiah 7:5).
- When you are walking in the spirit, God through the Holy Spirit on the inside of you would put into your Heart or give you ideas or the thoughts of whatever He wanted you to do.
- You are not expected to do things in the flesh, or depend on your soul, your human nature, to know what to do.
- Whatever you receive through intuition, a message from the Holy Spirit, would be relayed or conveyed, to your mind—which is known as inward witness. An idea comes like a thought.
- How would you know an idea is of the Lord? It would come as an answer to what you have requested in prayer from God—a knowing on the inside of you that would serve as a solution to what you have been troubled with.
- The thought would not be a premeditated one. It might come after your prayers, or when you are going about your daily activities.
- You get to know the idea is of God because it would be in line or be an answer to what had been troubling your mind, what you had wanted to get a solution to or for.
- Another sign of it is, you would have unusual peace as the thought or the idea comes into your mind. And you would have a witness, an endorsement, in you that It is the answer to what you have been asking or what you had wanted to know.
- The Holy Spirit on the inside of your spirit would bear witness on the inside of you, saying, this is it: "THE SPIRIT HIMSELF ENDORSES OUR INWARD CONVICTION THAT WE REALLY ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD" (Romans 8:16 PHILLIPS).
"GOD'S SPIRIT HIMSELF CAUSES US TO KNOW that we are God's children. GOD'S SPIRIT AND OUR OWN SPIRITS AGREE THAT THIS IS TRUE."
Romans 8:16 (EasyEnglish Bible)
- The Holy Spirit would endorse the witness you had in your heart or mind that what you had received; As a thought or witness, or an idea, is from Him—God. You will know that this is true!
- God would not force an idea on you. You have to be open, and be a seeker, and be willing—someone who wants to know or receive a direction or an answer to what is bothering his or her Heart (Luke 11:10).
- If you allowed God, He would give you ideas on how to induce; persuade, influence, or stimulate people to work and be committed to the assignment or the work At hand.
- For the people to submit willingly to your leadership, your intimacy with God has to be intact. His Aura on your life, makes the people regard you and your words with awe, veneration, or dread (Exodus 34:29,30).
- The idea given you by God, which also is known as a revelation or an intuition, carries God's Authority or power to bring whatever you had received to realization; As you share it with the people.
• In our text, Nehemiah was given the idea on God's counsel or Will. In other words, what to do was put in his heart or mind (Nehemiah 7:5).
- For divine ideas or intuitions to be frequent in your life in your walk with God, that is, in your relationship and fellowshipping with God; your spiritual exercise should be intact.
- A believer who would have a sharpened discernment would be someone who:
a. Prays more in the Holy Spirit without ceasing or slacking (Romans 8:14,16; 1 Corinthians 14:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17).
b. Let fasting be added to your praying. Live a fasted life. Discipline yourself in food, partying, carousing, and talking: "WHEREAS SHE WHO LIVES FOR PLEASURE AND SELF-INDULGENCE IS SPIRITUALLY DEAD EVEN WHILE SHE STILL LIVES" (1 Timothy 5:6 Amps).
c. Feeds on the Word of God. Know that the Holy Spirit would not lead you contrary to the written Word of God, the Bible. And, If your mind is preoccupied with the Word of God, It makes your mind receive whatever message is being passed across or relayed to it through your spirit, inward Man, easily; without disputing with the message (Joshua 1:8; James 1:22-25).
d. Humbleness or meekness would also sharpen your perceptiveness: "HE LEADS THE HUMBLE IN JUSTICE, AND HE TEACHES THE HUMBLE HIS WAY" (Psalm 25:9 Amps).
e. Prompt Obedience (Genesis 22:1-3; Hebrews 11:8,17). Your promptness in obeying God will always cause Him to have a delight in leading you. Delayed obedience is tantamount or equal to disobedience!
IF you always delayed in obeying, In that, you would argue and deliberate a lot before you eventually obey, and the obedience might even be with reluctancy. This would weaken your sensitivity or receptiveness when it comes to receiving ideas or intuitions or plans from God. - If you live your life daily, in line with the Bible, the biblical principles enumerated above, you would always know what to do. You will always have impressions, or thoughts, or ideas, of whatever He wanted you to do.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, receive your healing now in Jesus' name.
- Whatever God has not planted in your body that is working against your health, such is rebuked and uprooted completely in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. Ask that He will write your name in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
