"DO NOT LABOUR FOR THE FOOD WHICH PERISHES, BUT FOR THE FOOD WHICH ENDURES TO EVERLASTING LIFE, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."
John 6:27 (NKJV)

Comment: In this passage, Jesus was admonishing the people not to labour for the food which perishes, but the food which endures to everlasting life. In other words, people should not seek God because of the material things, but for the things that have eternal value. Many seek God because of the basic needs of life; what to eat, what to put on or wear, and other things: 30 NOW IF GOD SO CLOTHES THE GRASS OF THE FIELD, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, WILL HE NOT MUCH MORE CLOTHE YOU, O you of little faith? 31 “THEREFORE DO NOT WORRY, SAYING, ‘WHAT SHALL WE EAT?’ OR ‘WHAT SHALL WE DRINK?’ or ‘WHAT SHALL WE WEAR?’ 32 FOR AFTER ALL THESE THINGS THE GENTILES SEEK. FOR YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOWS THAT YOU NEED ALL THESE THINGS" (Matthew 6:30-32 NKJV).

BUT the believers should seek first the Kingdom of God, that all other things will be added: "BUT SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED TO YOU" (Matthew 6:33 NKJV).
THEREFORE the goal of whoever comes to God should be basically to know His Will for his or her life and align themselves with it. The Kingdom of God which the Bible says the believers should seek is the Will or plan or mind of God for their lives.
Jesus taught in the model prayer that was taught to His disciples: "YOUR KINGDOM COME. YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN" (Matthew 6:10).
WHEN the Will of God is known and done, His Kingdom has come. So the utmost concern of a believer is not about food or the mundane (Romans 14:17), but the knowing of the Will or plan of God, and the doing of it. Peace.
