  1. “But when HIS HEART WAS LIFTED UP, AND HIS SPIRIT WAS HARDENED IN PRIDE, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and THEY TOOK HIS GLORY FROM HIM.
    Daniel 5:20 (NKJV)

• The interpretation of The writing.

  • The Most High gave Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom and majesty, glory and honour (Daniel 5:18).
  • Nebuchadnezzar abused the majesty God gave him: “And because of the majesty that He gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whomever he wished, he executed; whomever he wished, he kept alive; whomever he wished, he set up; and whomever he wished, he put down” (Daniel 5:19).
  • Nebuchadnezzar’s heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride.
  • Nebuchadnezzar was one of the subjects in the Bible that pride affected negatively.
  1. “But when HIS HEART WAS LIFTED UP, AND HIS SPIRIT WAS HARDENED IN PRIDE, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and THEY TOOK HIS GLORY FROM HIM.
  2. “Then he was driven from the sons of men, his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and appoints over it whomever He chooses.” Daniel 5:20,21 (NKJV)
  • Belshazzar, Nebuchadnezzar’s son did not humble himself, even though he knew all that happened to his father because of pride.
  • Belshazzar disrespected God by calling for the vessels of God’s house to drink with his lords, wives and concubines. THEY praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone (Daniel 5:23).

• Note: No matter how exalted or great you are, you must acknowledge God as the source of your greatness.

  • Many ministers, leaders, in the ministry work have a lorry-load of pride in their lives.
  • God is against some people, they thought they are being fought or attacked by the devil but it is God Who stands against them.
  • Pride will move God against you, therefore humble yourself.
  1. “Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
  2. But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
  3. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
    James 4:5,6,10 (NKJV)

“And this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN" (Daniel 5:25).
“26“… the interpretation of each word… MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it;

  1. “TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting;
  2. “PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”
    Daniel 5:26-28 (NKJV)
  • Belshazzar’s kingdom was taken and was divided and given to another man: 30 “That very night Belshazzar, king of the Chaldeans, was slain. 31 And Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old" (Daniel 5:30,31).
  • It is my prayer that your place will not be given to another person.
  • God has balances which He uses in weighing everyone He puts in the position of authority.
    THOSE in leadership position in politics are put there by God and they will give account of their stewardship: “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God" (Romans 13:1).
  • Also those who are in the ministry leadership, they are put there by God, and they also will give account of their stewardship: “Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, For they watch out for your souls, AS THOSE WHO MUST GIVE ACCOUNT” (Hebrews 13:17).

• God took Belshazzar’s kingdom and gave it to another person, Darius (Daniel 5:31);
Likewise, someone’s ministry or assignment can be taken and be given to another person.

  1. “Therefore the LORD God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the LORD says: ‘Far be it from Me; FOR THOSE WHO HONOUR ME I WILL HONOUR, AND THOSE WHO DESPISE ME SHALL BE LIGHTLY ESTEEMED.
  2. ‘Behold, THE DAYS ARE COMING THAT I WILL CUT OFF YOUR ARM AND THE ARM OF YOUR FATHER'S HOUSE, so that there will not be an old man in your house.
  3. ‘Then I will raise up FOR MYSELF a FAITHFUL PRIEST who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever.”
    1 Samuel 2:30-31,35

• Know that your office in the ministry can be lost to another person.

  1. “Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus"
  2. “For it is written in the Book of Psalms: ‘Let his dwelling place be desolate [deserted], And let no one live in it’; and, ‘LET ANOTHER TAKE HIS OFFICE.' ”
    Acts 1:16,20 (NKJV)

• For every Moses, God always has a Joshua; and for every Elijah, He always has an Elisha.

  • Someone is waiting to take over from you, if you are tired, God will retire you and put another person in your position in order to relieve you.
    THAT will not be your portion in Jesus’ name.
  • Importantly, know that God can scatter and start afresh again: “So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive” (Genesis 7:23).

“So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.”
Genesis 9:1 (NKJV)

• It is my prayer that your place will not be lost to another person.
