"THE KING SPOKE, SAYING, “IS NOT THIS GREAT BABYLON, THAT I HAVE BUILT for a royal dwelling BY MY MIGHTY POWER and for the HONOUR OF MY MAJESTY?” "
Daniel 4:30 (NKJV)
Comment: Successes or achievements of a believer or nonbeliever should be attributed to God. Nebuchadnezzar said he had built Babylon by his mighty power for the honour of his majesty: "THAT I HAVE BUILT . . . BY MY MIGHTY POWER AND FOR THE HONOUR OF MY MAJESTY . . . ." (Daniel 4:30 NKJV).
God will not condone pride (Psalm 12:3; Proverbs 16:5). Whoever does not give the glory of whatever he or she achieved to God would be humbled (Matthew 23:12).
Whatever anyone achieved, the glory of it should be given to God, because He is the One Who has given the power or ability to get it done to the person: “AND YOU SHALL REMEMBER THE LORD YOUR GOD, FOR IT IS HE WHO GIVES YOU POWER TO GET WEALTH, THAT HE MAY ESTABLISH HIS COVENANT WHICH HE SWORE TO YOUR FATHERS, AS IT IS THIS DAY" (Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV).
The power to get whatever you may have gotten or achieved is given to you by God. But in our text, Nebuchadnezzar attributed the building of Babylon to himself; by his own power, and the place was built for the honour of his own majesty.
God would not want vaunting or bragging—display of what one is or has or has done. Thus, God wanted Nebuchadnezzar to know that he was nobody; whatever he is, He, God, made him—Nebuchadnezzar. God did humble him (Daniel 4:31-33).
A believer should know the source of his or her blessings or success. One of the things that God will not compromise or trade with is the glory due Him which should not be given to another person or thing. The glory of whatever God did in your life should be attributed to Him: "I AM THE LORD, THAT IS MY NAME; AND MY GLORY I WILL NOT GIVE TO ANOTHER, NOR MY PRAISE TO CARVED IMAGES" (Isaiah 42:8 NKJV).

When you attempted to give God's glory to another person or to a carved image or you attributed it to your versatility, ingenuity or cleverness; you are calling for humiliation or even death in some instances (Acts 12:21-23).
Any number of believers and ministers have missed it because of pride; when they try to attribute their successes or blessings to the self. Some have even lost the anointing on their lives and ministry, they are only going about with the residue of the anointing. In fact, such might be called home, died, any time.
The quickest way to lose anointing or relevance in the ministry work is when you allowed covetousness or greed for money (1 Timothy 3:3,8), and also when you started ascribing the glory of your success to the self.
