YOU HAVE WHAT TO CONTRIBUTE

“And He said to them, “TAKE HEED AND BEWARE OF COVETOUSNESS, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Luke 12:15 (NKJV)

• You must have the mindset of what to contribute in any place you find yourself.

  • You must not always look for what to take or get but what to contribute or what to give—givers never LACKED.
IN our text, Luke 12:15, Jesus said we should take heed and beware of covetousness or greed, that life is not measured by how much we own.
JESUS told a parable of a man whose farm yielded bountifully or plentifully, to buttress the point He was making (Luke 12:16-21).
THE man decided to pull down his Barns and build bigger ones, in order to store all his crops and goods (Luke 12:17,18).
IN his thoughts, he did not have any plans for others or things of God: "And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry" (Luke 12:19).
HE was later told by God that his life would be required of him that same night, whose would those things he gathered be (Luke 12:20).
HE was not Rich towards God, he did not have God in his plan (Luke 12:21).

• Take note:the mindset of what to contribute leads to greatness.

  • Some cannot do anything for free!
THEY believe they have to be rewarded for whatever they do for others.
BE willing to contribute or invest in the development or growth of others.
THE material blessings God has blessed you with ARE meant to be used to help others, especially those who are of the household of faith (Titus 3:8).
  1. "Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
  2. LET THEM DO GOOD, THAT THEY BE RICH in GOOD WORKS, READY TO GIVE, WILLING TO SHARE,
  3. STORING UP FOR THEMSELVES A GOOD FOUNDATION FOR THE TIME TO COME, that they may lay hold on eternal life."
    1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NKJV)
  • Contribute and be part of the development of where you are, never be in a place and sit on the fence, that is, never feel unconcerned about the progress of the place or whatever.
YOU will not need to wait until you have millions of money 💰 before you started to give, you give even out of the little God has blessed you with.
SOME would want to claim that the Scripture above does not talk about them, since they are not Rich.
WHATEVER level you are in the possession of material blessings, you have a responsibility to give, bless the work of the kingdom and the people of the household of faith.
  1. "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap it if we do not lose heart.
  2. Therefore, AS WE HAVE OPPORTUNITY, LET US DO GOOD TO ALL, ESPECIALLY TO THOSE OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH."
    Galatians 6:9,10 (NKJV)

GOD is not asking you to give what you do not have, but what you have, that is, you give out of what He has blessed you with: "For if there is first a willing mind, IT IS ACCEPTED ACCORDING TO WHAT ONE HAS, AND NOT ACCORDING TO WHAT HE DOES NOT HAVE" (2 Corinthians 8:12).

• When you enter a community, city, or Nation, think of what you can contribute to make the place a better place.

  • If you get to an organisation, think about what you can do, contribute, to move the place forward.
YOUR greatness is in what you contribute to a place.
YOU will be remembered for the problem you solved or created.
DO not leave a place the way you met it.
LEAVE a mark there, that you have passed through the place.
WHENEVER you get to a new place, ask God, Why has He brought you to the place and what He wanted you to contribute there?

• That said, even as a minister, WHAT is the effort or sacrifice you are making personally to move the work committed onto your hands forward?
I have seen ministers whose Ministries are operated in shanties while they live in luxuries.
THEY find it difficult to give their material possessions to the work they do—the assignment committed to their hands.
FOR your vision to materialize or your ministry to move forward, you will have to take the lead in giving to the vision Or the work.
YOUR level of commitment determines the commitment of others who are under your leadership.
TO move your Ministry forward, it has to take the foremost priority over other things in your life.

• Are you working under a Ministry?

  • Think of what you can do or contribute to move the Ministry or church forward?
WHAT can you do to make the work less burdensome for your Senior Pastor?
WHAT can you do to enhance the spiritual, numerical, and material growth of the Ministry or church?

• The truth is:We live to give, if someone does not live giving, he or she will soon pass on.
AS you breathe in And breathe out, you live on, however, when someone breathes in without breathing out, the person will soon kick the bucket—die.

  1. "Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; FOR ALL WHO WERE POSSESSORS OF LANDS OR HOUSES SOLD THEM, and BROUGHT the PROCEEDS OF THE THINGS THAT WERE SOLD,
  2. AND LAID THEM AT THE APOSTLES' FEET; AND THEY DISTRIBUTED TO EACH AS ANYONE HAD NEED."
    Acts 4:34,35 (NKJV)

• Life is all about giving.

  • So you must keep giving what you have in order to be relevant on the earth.
YOU relevance in the Kingdom is how much you contribute to the development of mankind—the Church of Christ Jesus.
  1. "And Joses [Joseph], who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement or Consolation), a Levite of the country of Cyprus,
  2. HAVING LAND, SOLD IT, AND BROUGHT THE MONEY 💰 AND LAID IT AT THE APOSTLES' FEET."
    Acts 4:36,37 (NKJV)

• You will not fail in Jesus’ name.
Peace!
