For the first time ever scientists have found a complete protein molecule in a meteorite. And they are pretty sure it doesn't come from Earth

Alien Life?
Experts from Harvard University and the biotechnological companies PLEX Corporation and Bruker concluded after analyzing samples from the Acfer 086 meteorite that the basic building blocks of the protein differ chemically from the basic building blocks of Earth proteins. The results of the research were published on ArXiv.
The molecule is tipped by an iron-oxygen-iron grouping that in other terrestrial contexts has been proposed to be capable of absorbing photons and splitting water into hydroxyl and hydrogen moieties.
Finally A Complete Protein
Until now we have found only amino acid strings. None of the strings has been long enough or organized enough to consider it a full protein.
But if the research team isn't wrong then the results of its work are strong support for the hypothesis that claims meteorites used to play a major role in the process of pre-biotic evolution on Earth. More specifically they supposedly brought different important molecules and compounds to the surface of our planet.
Sadly, the researchers so far cannot answer other important questions. Where does this strange protein come from and how exactly did it get created? The only thing they are convinced about is that it doesn't come from around here.
Hopefully, future research will answer those questions.
