Our country India is very famous for its different festivals and cultures. Which is a matter of great pride for every Indian citizen.
In the contest of "Your Favorite Festival" organized by Best of India Community, I was very confused about which festival to write about but I would like to share some information about "Ramadan" with you all Steemit members.
Ramadan is my favorite festival because it is considered a holy time to worship Allah. And the poor are taught to donate and during this festival different types of food and sweets are eaten. So I love this festival so much.
Specialty of Ramadan
- 30 days of the month are to be fasted.
- We recite the Quran throughout the month and worship Allah.
- Donating to the poor during this month is considered a virtue.
- Tarawih prayers are offered at night so that even those who do not know how to read can listen and worship Allah.
- In this month we thanking to Allah for everything.
Starting of Ramadan
- After watching the moon of Ramadan we starting the Ramadan festival.
About Roza and Iftaari
- Rosa starts at about 4 to 4.30 in the morning. In which water and any kind of food cannot be taken in the whole day. So whatever food you want to eat, you have to eat during this time of the morning. This is called Sehri in Islamic words. As soon as the morning prayers begin, Rosa begins.
- One has to worship Allah throughout the day and Not taking any food all day and worshiping Allah when the 15 hours of fasting end after about 7 pm. Then the Fasting is released by worshiping Allah.
- In scientific language, keeping Rosa keeps the body healthy and does not cause any kind of disease.
The Day Of EID (Eid al-Fitr)
- Eid is celebrated on the last day of the month of Ramadan by looking at the moon which is called Eid al-Fitr in Arabic. If the moon does not appear after the 29th day of Ramadan, then the 30th day of Ramadan is observed and then Eid is celebrated.

Celebration of EID
- On the day of Eid, people go to the mosque in the morning and pray. After the prayer, people give thanks to Allah. Than people hug each other and wish Eid. People go to each other's homes and send greetings. On this day, people make “Milk and Sawaiya” in their homes on the occasion of Eid and feed the people who come to send greetings.
Why celebrating Ramadan and its History
- This month a portion of everything you earn throughout the year is donated to the poor. So anyone who is poor or of any religion has been taught to help by giving a small portion of our earnings. Ramadan is called the month of virtues. This month is meant to please them by worshiping Allah.
- Those who keep Rosa this month help those who do not have the money or convenience to open Rosa to open Rosa. Which leads to the belief that the blessings of the poor forgive the sins of the helper.
- The Prophet of Allah is Muhammad Sahib. According to a myth, it is said that AD In 610, Mohammad Sahib came to knowledge about the Islamic holy book Quran Sharif. Therefore, this month is considered to be the holiest month of Islam.
This is how Ramadan is celebrated by the people.
We have always received meethi Sewaiyan at our village on occasion of Eid from Sharif Bhai and his family. This festival of Eid enhances the brotherhood .
