An unfortunate incident happened yesternight at around 11:00 pm, when a LPG gas cylinder bursted out in one house in a locality of my hometown. The house caught fire and the fire couldn't be doused at the house of origin, instead 24 houses were gutted down by the massive fire broke out. The colony is housed by a group of people belonging to a particular profession and is congested. According to sources, by the time, fire fighters with necessary equipments reached, five houses were already gutted down. Yesternight while i was at home, i saw our driver posting pics in official whatsApp group. At that time, I didn't realise gravity of situation. I thought it may have been ordinary fire incident and as part of protocol , our department has to be there .

But as i woke up in the morning, i saw duty roster in whatsApp group according to which i was supposed to be there . So i went out of bed immediately, freshened up, had breakfast and dressed up immedately to rush towards duty. I took my vehicle only halfway, from there i boarded ambulance and flew to spot.

As I reached there, I realised the gravity of the situation. Property worth crores of rupees had turned into ash. There were more than 20 patients with superficial partial thickness burns to whom we provided first aid and necessary advice . The good thing is that , there were no casualties reported from the area . Politicians and people in administration also visited the area to sympathize with the families and announced some monetary relief for the people.

We were done with most of our job by 3:00 p.m. but as part of our habit, people took advantage of our visit and seek advice for some other OPD related ailments too. We left the spot by 3:30 pm. We will have to continue our duties there for few days .

Later I came back home , freshened up , took tea and then I took a nap for a while . Then I went to see my ailing grandmother as she was not feeling well yesterday. I checked her blood pressure it was better than yesterday . Than i came back to my room , did some official work and later was called for dinner by my mum . After having dinner, I received a call from my sister as she needed some assistance to complete her paperwork. I talked to her for about half an hour . Now I am writing this diary and I shall soon get busy with my work again .
