After a few days a very important day is about to come for the people of India.

Yes, of course, 15th August, which we Indians celebrate with great enthusiasm as Indian Independence Day.

On this day in 1947, the residents of India got independence from British rule.

This is the national festival of us Indians. On this day, we Indians salute our national tricolor flag by standing in front of it and singing our national anthem in its honor and every year the Prime Minister of India addresses the country from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

This year India has completed 74 years as an independent nation or to say that it has been 74 years since we got independence from British rule on 15th August 2021. Independence Day is the national festival of India, hence 15th August is kept as a royal holiday.

Every year the Prime Minister of India hoists the national flag at the Red Fort and gives a message to the nation. The President of India also gives a message to the country. After which there is also a military parade. A 21-gun salute is given on this occasion.

This day is celebrated as a national holiday all over India, in which offices, post offices and banks are closed. Independence Day is celebrated in all Indian states and union territories with flag hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural programs. Preparation for Independence Day starts a month in advance.

Schools and colleges organize cultural programs, competitions, debates, speeches and quiz competitions.
