Leftist-radical fascism is increasing and there needs to be legal ways to prevent it in India right now.

So looks like this IAS officer Roopa who I had some very good opinion about (after reading about her before and seeing her TED talk, and latest on her bold expose on Sasikala abusing jail privileges), has used her personal authority to ban some guy on Twitter who claimed there's evidence in ancient India that they used firecrackers.

She's also saying to the media it was her who brought about the suspension using a contact at Twitter and that "he was spreading communal hatred by making such statements". I actually went and saw their discourse on twitter and it was decent from both sides.

Now, for all I know, it is quite impossible to have had firecrackers in ancient times. Diwali itself may not be that old too. That's something he claims. It can be disputed and debated. But does it need a ban using authority by citing communal tensions?

This is leftist-liberal fascism for you. It is increasing leaps and bounds everywhere. People will ban you, delete you, shut you up, threaten you, dox you, even kill you if you do not agree to their ideology or views. Facts always come from them.

India needs to pass laws that limit the power of social media companies and make them liable to lawsuits for bans and suspensions of accounts. And all these fact-check organizations need to be vetted.

Facebook and Twitter cannot use some Chinese funded company to "fact-check" news that only reports some researcher's claims - as false news. A Chinese researcher who escaped to the US from HK makes a claim about the virus. If it is newsworthy every media organization should have the ability to report that claim, like WION did.

Indian news companies are not reporting that she's right or wrong. They are only reporting what is news. But seems like even reporting can be banned using "fact-check" by these companies if they think it won't suit certain interests.

But who fact-checks them when they show Leh in China and Srinagar in Pakistan? Why their entire platforms cannot be suspended for some days for such fake news by India? Why can't their reach be reduced by instructing our ISPs to drop a certain number of users? They do all these things to Indian social media users.

Then why we Indians do not ask our Govt to do the same to them for their fake news that is a national security threat or causes riots? Indians cannot be held ransom to information by foreign social media and media companies. Government must act now!
