EVs No More in Switzerland

The Title of this Post sounds weird right rightfully so as in the Age of EVs there has come up a Country that is saying that they are Banning all EVs in their Country. It is very ironic to see such progressing Countries that are much on sustainable mobility considering the banning of EVs. The reason behind this Ban might not be as bad as you think. We all know that due to the war between Russia and Ukraine the Gas Supply has been cut short by the European Union by Russia and Switzerland is also getting burnt by this War.

Now as the Winter approaches Switzerland is now faced with an Energy Crisis on its hands so a decision was made to Ban Evs as they consume a lot of Energy for Travel. Personally, I cannot fathom the hardships of Winter for the Swiss people as I live in India which is Cold but definitely not Colder than any other European Country. According to the news that is coming out you can only charge EVs for extremely necessary journeys.

In my opinion, this looks like a smart solution to save some energy and I don't know how much they will save but it's better to have some than none. But on the flip side, there might be families that only own EVs and that could prove to be a lot of difficulties for them so yeah there are always two sides to a single story.
