if on the other hand,you didn't enable the backup on you device before the incident occurred then not to worry,this post cover both aspect of how you can retrieve lost data from dead phone with or without the phone backup.
•GOOGLE BACKUP FEATURE.
The google backup is an inbuilt kind of software program in every smartphone that automatically or manually backup information and data on your phone such as videos,pictures, documents,files, application and the likes.
Data that are backed up with Google can easily be reclaimed or recovered through the use of Google drive.
The method of recovering data from Google drive is compatible and works with both Androids and IOS devices.
You can recover your data from your phone if it is still working and with you.
However,in cases where your mobile device is dead or misplaced,you can recover your backed up data from Google using an external source which implies that you make use of another device which is probably not yours to recover your data and that can be done by signing in into the alternate device.
Once you sign in,the synchronized data automatically recovers and downloads the data from the dead and damage phone directly to the new device.

To be on the safer side,it is advisable to always replicate important data on both the External card and the internal memory of a phone to avoid loss of important data.
The phone and SD card cannot get spoilt simultaneously at the same time.So in cases where the phone becomes damage or dead,you can easily get your data by removing your external SD card and inserting it in a PC or any other phone.
A lot of factors might be the cause or reason for a smartphone to become dead,some of which are water damage,hardware failure, battery issues and even virus attack.
You can fixed this by changing or fixing the hardware of the smartphone if you can but it is advisable to see a professional in that field.
Sometimes battery issue can be the cause of dead phone.
Using a battery for a longer period of time or when it is exposed to water can cause it to stop working which will result to your phone not switching on.
You can try to change the battery if you can and if it still doesn't work after that,the best option is to visit a repair shop for proper hardware fixing.
