Amiyakhum Falls is a magnificent waterfall located at Nakshiyang in Thanchi upazila of Bandarban district. It is also considered as one of the most inaccessible places in Bangladesh. The stream of cold water spreads the white foam of milk over the green hills and rock barriers at high speed incessantly. Some people are fascinated by the waterfall and call it the most beautiful waterfall in Bangladesh.
Bandarban is also a thrilling place for adventure lovers. The sky-scraping mountains, the lush green forests and the waterfalls hidden in it, the wild will make you intoxicated with joy-laugh-cry-surge. Amiyakhum is a spectacular and thrilling waterfall of Bandarban which is also known as the paradise of Bengal.
The sound of white fennel water and its deep fall enchants tourists. Without seeing such a scene in the middle of a rocky mountain, one cannot understand how much Maya and beauty this Amiyakhum holds.
How to get there?
If you want to go to Amiakhum, first come to Bandarban district from anywhere in the country. Then you have to go to Amiyakhum through Thanchi Upazila. There are two ways to reach Amiyakhum from Thanchi.
Route 1: Thanchi> Padmajhiri> Thuisapara> Devtapahar> Amiyakhum.
Route 2: Thanchi> Remakri> Nafakhum> Jinapara> Thuisapara> Devtapahar> Amiyakhum.
From Bandarban you have to go to Thanchi by local bus or moon car. Local bus fare is 220 rupees per person and moon car fare is 4 to 5 thousand rupees. It takes four and a half to five hours by bus and about three hours by moon car.
Thanchi will get a guide right down. Then Padmajhiri took a boat on the Sangu river. From there it is about 6 hours trekking to Thuisapara. After spending the night here, Amiyakhum trekked for another two or three hours the next morning.
There is another way to go to Amiyakhum. In this case, it has to be remade. Go directly to Remakri by boat from Thanchi. After trekking you can see Nafakhum waterfall and reach Thuisapara and reach Amiakhum. Two waterfalls can be seen on this route.
Where to eat?
You have to eat at the home of the local aborigines to eat on your trekking route. For the convenience of tourists, food is provided in different packages. Consult your guide in advance on where to eat. Zoom rice, vegetables, pulses, mountain chicken, mashed potatoes can be eaten according to the food package. In addition, you must take dry foods such as biscuits, chocolate, chira, muri, dates according to the quantity and plan. You have to trek hard all the way.
