Thank you so much @Ihorgic for organising this wonderful contest. The year 2021 has come to an end and there has been both good moments and bad moments. Am going to share with you a moment in 2021 that has been my great teacher.
We had just taken children back to school, paid all the tuition fees and requirements then just after three weeks, the second wave of corona virus hit us again in Uganda and the government had to close schools and students had to come back home. That was indeed a very trying moment for me and my family because were just recovering from the first lock down and then a second lock down was announced.
Of course there was nothing to do but to use the little resources we had remained with to see that we buy and stock some food. We thank God that he provided for us and not at anytime did we go hungry.
During the lock down, no car was allowed to move, many offices were closed and people were all expected to stay at home . The only places that remained open were the hospitals, supermarkets, food stores, banks. And people could only move using a bicycle or motorcycle but when on a motorcycle you were not allowed to carry anyone behind apart from laggages
I suffered so much with transport because at home we didn't have a bicycle or a motorcycle, so the only option I had was to walk. I would walk a distance of 15km to go to the nearest food store to buy food for my family. It was indeed a very trying moment.
But from this moment I learnt that, sometimes even if you have a car, it is very important to have a bicycle too or any other means of transport because you never know what might happen or when you will need it. As I was walking, I saw many people passing by on their bikes and there was nothing I could do about it at that moment because since we were not working, our budget was so limited.
From this moment I also learnt that we should save alot to prepare for the uncertainty. Am grateful that we had some savings, I don't know what life would have been. And also to trust and look unto God who is the overall provider because there were times when things were really hard but because of his goodness , he created a way for us.
I would like to invite @kyara2, @brendakim and @mbabazize to come and take part in this wonderful contest.
