The Skill I Wish I had by @faithilyn

Thank you so much @Ihorgic for organising this wonderful contest. For sure many people are in professions not because they wished to be there but because they wanted to please their parents or guardians and am one of those people.

When I was in school, all my wishes were to be a lawyer because I wanted to be an advocate for the under previllaged people. I wanted to be their voice so that their rights can be respected and receive justice. This was my dream skill or profession.

But my mom wanted me so much to be a teacher and the reason she always gave me was that jobs are readily available. Which is true because after school I immediately got a job but the most annoying thing about this profession especially in my country is that teachers are under valued. They are paid low, actually they are always the last to be considered in everything yet they do a tremendous work. I love my profession as a teacher because I have seen how many students I have taught and have excelled and are proud of me but I just wish I was a lawyer. I would feel more happy and fulfilled.

This has also taught me a lesson that atleast we as parents we should not always dictate in the lives of our children, but instead we should sit with them and discuss want they feel they want in life and advise accordingly.
