WHAT IS COMBO GOWN

Combo gown is a type of cloth combination whereby you could combine two or more cloth to gives you a good styles.

STEP 1

FRONT PATTERN

After I finished taking my measurements i folded my ankara into two and place on my table for marking, before then I divided all the measurement by four. For instance hips is 40, I divided fourty by four which gives me ten.
I placed my tape from the top to bottom. I mark my shoulder and neck line and cut it off as you see in the picture.

I marked my waist, hips and underhip. I connected from the shoulder point down to underhip to give me figure-A shape and cut it off.

BACK PATTERN

After I might have finished cutting the front pattern I place it on the remaining cloth with two inches allowance for zip and cut the back pattern off. I also trimmed one inch from bottom to hip point and one inch from half-length point so that the back of my dress will not pop up.

STEP 2

SEWING PROCESS

I cut lining to turn with the material. I placed the good part ankara with the good part of lining and sew it all round and bring out the right facing and put in the wrong facing. I did the same with the back pattern and sew it all.
I fixed the zip at the back Pattern using two inches so that it will give me flat and plain back without pooping out.

STEP 3

After turning I joined the shoulder and place the back and the front pattern to mark my final Measurement for shape. When I finished with the marking i place on my machine and sew.

Shaping Process

STEP 4

COMBO

For my combo I used Black and White straps material to gives me a beautiful combination. I cut the material using 6" and used 2"for heming.

I opened from the zip side and mark V-Shape at the centre of the 👗 and sew it starting from the left zip side till the end of the right zip side.

SLEEVES PATTERN

I cut 6"straight material and sew it straight to make it a gardiase. I sew two inches and fixed elastic. I shape the sleeve to fit the armhole and attached it to the dress and finally iron it.
