Secret Lovers

His passion was steam, and she was his only fire
Igniting their flames with such ease
Storms are extinguishing, the sun of timeless dawn glistens
Showering sparks of positive chaos into the dark
A cascade of stars in the sweet ebony sky
A sort of brightness kindled something beautiful within
Laying naked in the moonlight fingers entwined
His touch is energy, a love that's passion fire with earth
As beloved knows, it's not the kind of love destined for mortals

The kind of creative brain that brings such magic
She feels eternity to be with him sink into serenity
Their energy vibrates in such a unique way
His smiles alone burnish her soul into a beauty
Angels of perfect flame, separate and one
An entire ocean of ink wouldn’t be enough to describe it
A starburst of light amongst the darkening dusk
The stars in the sky condensed into a single point
Love was intoxicating, the laughter, and soul uniting

Both a beautiful dream and a catastrophic nightmare
Times of closeness that seared together
The bitterness has grown faster than the sidewalk weeds
The melancholy has returned with thrice the effect
While there is suffering, every soul is battered
Leaving him is like some reflex of a bad karma
It is like dying a hundred deaths each moment
Their lives and love are circles and spirals rolled into one glorious mess

Savoring each moment, lost in a heady trance of passion
Before they met she was one, now she is half
His soul was in a different room and he does not have a key
She put it in her pocket with a whisper and a four-leaf clover
Yet is also a serenity soul can dwell in forever
These miles away with the memories of their brief time
Sadness in leaving a place of strong love
Where fond memories blossomed as quickly as mustard seeds
The strands of love will keep together even when far apart

It's time to leave, where twin spirits were born to do
There is no stronger glue in the cosmos than sincere love
Recognize that leaving entails a deeper love for one another
As a blade can halt a beating heart, leaving crushes souls
Only by parting can the emotional bleeding be stemmed
Mystified, just like a tangled set of puzzle pieces
Each incarnation has few moments to revel in the shared love
As secret lovers do, they know when to say adieu
