My Teacher I won't forget

IMG_20220121_123746.jpg

She's by name Mrs Margaret Ekiso. She was my literature in English teacher in secondary school. The picture above was taken a week ago when I was promoting Steemit. She walked passed the venue of the Promotion, I was really surprised seeing her because I didn't expect seeing her that day and in that particular place. She was really excited seeing me and I was more than excited. She really affected my life positively while I was in school and I'm very happy to write about her today.

Why I won't forget her

There are many reasons why I can't forget her and I'll start by saying that she's in the reason literature in English is my best subject till date. She's the reason I can't forget all those terms in literature. I can talk about them even when woken from sleep.

When I started attending literature classes, other teachers made it look like a very difficult subject and it was as if we were dummies because we could barely understand what they were doing. At a point other students stop attending the class, the class was now empty and the report reached the principal. We were summoned by the principal. He asked us what the problem was and we were so bold to tell him, he disperse us and we all left. After some days, a new teacher was sent to us and lo and behold it was ** Mrs Margaret**. The whole class and even I wasn't excited anyways because we thought she was going to be the same as other teachers until she started teaching. I began to enjoy the class right from her first class so was everyone. She introduced some text we were to buy which will help us in our final Examinations. After about a week. She came to class with some of those texts and novels and shared to the ones who couldn't afford it. Everyone was excited because it has never happened. The only thing other teachers knew how to do was to complain and abuse the class. Calling us names and comparing us to their children at home, claiming they are better than us but Mrs Margaret was just different. She was reading those novels in class. Some of the novels were; Othello by William Shakespeare and She stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith which I'll never forget. She didn't see reading it in class as time and energy wasting as other teachers did. We were really excited and we enjoyed every moment of her class and we all passed the exams.

What I'll do for her if I meet her again

Well, I know I've met her already but I'm hoping of seeing her again in a very big and unique way. The first thing I did when I saw was to get her contact. With that, I know I'll be getting to see her. I know I don't have money for now to give her the best treatment that she deserves. But when next I'm seeing her, I'll buy her a very nice meal and a very chilled drink to cool off the stress she went through because of me and other students. Then I'll give her some gifts as something to remember. Then in subsequent times, I'll be supporting even her children in their academics. That's my dream and I hope it comes to reality.

In conclusion, I'll say that teachers should be mindful of some of things they say to their students. It's not just being a teacher for the name sake, the question is, what will you be remembered for? Is it for a positive or negative reason? Thank you for reading through. I invite my friends, @nsikakedem, @prudent85 and @marygeorge to participate in this contest
