Hello great teachers and students of this wonderful community, welcome to my blog for today and in my post today I'm going to make my entry to @natuyal21 contest thank you for this amazing contest about parenting skills and I would like to invite @charis20 @goodybest @desiredlady to join this contest.
My parenting story, skills and how it has greatly influenced my life
My husband and I got married October 12th, 2019. It's an amazing thing to walk down the aisle with your best friend, it's been a great journey. We gave birth to our bundle of joy nine months after. It was such an exciting thing to bring a life to this world, my joy knows no bounds.
My wedding picture and when I was pregnant
I am really grateful to God as we hear stories of women and what they go through during pregnancy but mine was very stress free and the labour was not as painful as I have imagined. We welcome our bundle of joy in July 2020 and then the motherhood journey began.

parenthood Journey and lessons learnt
Been a first time mom is not an easy task, parenthood will consume every strength you think you have and stretch you beyond your wildest imagination, thats what it had done to me. My baby is one year plus now and I'm forever grateful to God for the privilege to be a mother. It's a privilege I don't take for granted but motherhood comes with its own pros and cons. It has been a roller coaster ride but the strength of a mother surpass it all. I had to make a lot of sacrifice for my little one and I know it all worth it. All my dreams and ambitions had to be on hold for a while so as to take care of my daughter but I'm thankful she's growing now and I can pursue my dreams and goals.

Major thing I have learnt as a parent is that no one is a perfect parent and we all learn while we train our kids. We should all be open to learning from one another and love our kids with all our heart. We should do right by them.
Parenting skills
I already said earlier, in this parenthood journey, you have to be open to learning. These there words learn, relearn and unlearn should be your watch word daily. Below are the list of parenting skills I practice.
controlling my anger when correcting my baby. My baby is at the stage where she's trying to do things on her own and wants to be independent and sometimes it can be frustrating because it's difficult to put her in order without loosing your temper but I am gradually mastering the act of controlling my emotions.
be patient with your kids, they are learning from you, it will take a while for them to stand on their feet.
take your kids diet very seriously, the kind of food you give them at a tender age is what they grow to like or eat but once a healthy diet is cultivated at a tender age it's easy to maintain it. I am very particular about my kids diet, I ensure her meal consist all that she needs to grow healthy.
kids learn from us the parent, we should always practice what we preach.
listen to your kids and be their friend. At this early stage with my baby, I ensure to always have conservative with her, even though she doesn't understand me very well yet, I am cultivating an habit that will be of great help in the future.
create a loving and peaceful environment for your kids. A home they feel secure and safe.
never compare your kids with anyone. You child is unique and special, treat them like a queen and king.
correct your kids in love and be consistence with your standard of discipline.
ensure you and your partner have the same set rules for your kids.
These are the feel tips and skills I practice for my baby and I hope they are all helpful.
