The sky is on fire
Gray smoke billows past the face of the moon
All of the sky's blue has hid
Behind the pyre of clouds
Birds dive for cover in the Terra
It's amazing, this raging sky fire
I would dive for cover too
If I had less than these shades to shield me
My eyes would be happy to look on
Without having to squint like a vampire flirting with the light
Beauty is pain, I scoff, it is pain indeed
This raging sky fire, it is beauty indeed
Do I mind? I do. I mind that it's burning me up
Not too much though. I'm in it, ain't I?
I have seen a million sky fires like this
I'll see more before my time runs by like a game of whist
For the beauty, I choose this pain
I would get closer, if I had a crane
All of the sky's blue has hid
Behind the pyre of clouds
It's amazing, this raging sky fire
