  1. PROOFREADING AND EDITING:

This phase of writing process, involves polishing your revised draft, proofreading it for errors in grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, capitalization; afterwards, producing a clean copy of your writing/literary work.

CHECKLIST FOR PROOFREADING AND EDITING:

Questions to consider:

• Grammar and Usage

I) Have I used adjectives and adverbs properly?
II) Do all my sentences expresses only one complete thought?
III) Have I avoided sentence fragments?
IV) Do the verb I used agree with their subjects?
V) Do my sentences and paragraphs flow smoothly?

• Punctuation

I) Have I used colons, semicolons, commas, dashes, hyphens, apostrophes, parentheses and quotation marks appropriately?

• Spelling

I) Have I checked to ascertain for the correct spelling of each word?

• Capitalization

I) Have I done proper capitalization according to the established standard?

• Manuscript Form

I) Have I double spaced my manuscript?
II) Have I written my name and done proper pagination of my manuscript?
III) Is my manuscript clean and legible?
