I am known as @sikan-eyen on this platform and today I'd be sharing with you the subject I hated back in high school.

Seeing this contest topic brought back lost memories. I attended Bright Stars Model Secondary School in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and I hated MATHEMATICS❌❌❌

No, do not get me wrong it was a good school, a private one at that...
I feel this hatred evolved and grew before I even encountered the real mathematics. I grew to hearing siblings and older peers rebuke this very subject, how difficult and impossible it totally was, all these mantra instilling fear and hatred, so in my heart it was registered ad a wild zoo. (Out of bounds).

While in High school I hated mathematics, I hated the subject teacher, for the obvious reason of course, I dreaded the days mathematics appeared in our classroom timetable.

You what made it worse? Mathematics teachers especially males were always labelled 'wicked' and mine was no exception, when he appeared with his thick long cane, ready to lash, I already had trickles of sweat streaming down my body.

Just so you know, I tried my best, paid attention, did my assignments, collaborated during assignments and class works but I still graduated with a low grade.
I am really grateful I made it through, #sighs
Climbing higher to Tertiary institution,
it had a toll on me a great deal, I had to

Struggle, mth111, 112, 121, I failed the medial but strived and didnt give up, resat and passed.

Over the years I believe I have dropped my grievances over Mathematics, as I discovered it was a very interesting and easy subject when you know your way around.

Finally, if you are a culprit of spreading the news on how diff maths is, pls stop! do not influence people's choices, well said.
