Hello great people of steem-skillshare
How are you all doing I hope you are all fine as for me I am ok.
Today I bring to you all a tutorial on how to make a simple straight gown just like the one shown below.
Let see some simple steps I follow to make this beautiful straight gown.
Let get started
Measurements
Shoulder | 15 |
---|---|
Bust | 33 |
Shape | 29 |
Hand length | 10 |
Hips | 36 |
Full length | 40 |
Firstly I folded my material into two and take the shoulder measurement and the armhole.marked my bust point and take the bust measurement ( 33) and I added 3 inches for dart and sawing out. The next is the shape point and take the shape measurement (29) I also add 3 inches for sem allowance. And then I mark my hips point and take the hips measurement there (36) also added 3 inches for sem allowance, I connect the hip, shape and bust point together and cut it out
The back I added 2inches for zip allowance
The next step is lineing I cut my lineing just the way I cut my material and minus 2inches from the bottom since it's a draw up, remember our gown Length is 40 so I have added 2 inches for Sem allowance
Sewing begins, I fixed both the lineing and the material the same way . After that I used the lineing to to turn the material
I do the same thing at the back
I used this trimming to beautify the front part of my gown
This is how it looks like
And i made my balloon sleeve using an half inches elastic, then I join the both shoulder together after that I fixed my balloon sleeve to the gown and shape it out with our measurement. Our beautiful straight gown is ready to wear.
