The time is 2018. England beat India by 60 runs in the Southampton Test on 2 September to win the five-match series 3-1 with one match in hand. As the series came to an end, the hosts had the opportunity to experiment with the team in the last match of the rules. But then came the hard news. Discussions have started in the cricket neighborhood.

The news came goodbye. Yes, that's right. Alastair Cook has decided to play the last match of the Test series against India as the last international Test match of his life. The last Test match of his life was truly a great poem for Alastair Cook. Not just for him, but for the whole cricket world as an incredible and imaginary chapter. Yes, a chapter in England cricket is called Alastair Cook. Who wrote history stories in the last test of his life.

Cook played the last innings of the last Test of his life at the Oval. If you skip the first three days, maybe there is no problem. Because he gave the story on the 4th. When this great hero came to bat on the 4th day with 46 runs on the 3rd day, the gallery full of spectators were looking at him with two eyes full of love. Everyone wants only one thing in their soul, let the epic of the great hero be written. Everyone was probably praying. Because those who understand cricket, understand the language of cricket, this hero must be very deep in their hearts. So everyone can ask for the epic of the great hero to be written. It would be wrong to say you can ask. To be honest, everyone wanted to.

And that wish was fulfilled. Cook, who scored 96, pushed the ball to the backward point and ran for the run. But the run will reach 1, 96 to 96 runs. But who knew that the epic of the great hero would be composed then! The Indian fielder threw in an attempt to run out, which did not go through the stumps. The reverse ball rolled over and crossed the boundary line. That's where Alastair Cook's farewell shines in the fountain of light. In the last Test of his career, the legend scored a century in the last innings.

Those who have so many fans have to go with some such gifts at the time of farewell. And that is what this great hero did. Cook made his Test debut against India in Nagpur in March 2006. Century made its debut. See what a match! Fifty in the first innings and a century in the second innings in the first Test of his career. And the same in the last Test, fifty in the first innings and a century in the second innings. This is really an epic. This is another strange and surprising thing in the world of cricket.

Creativity is really great. He fills him with as much as he deserves. After scoring a century, all the Indian fielders shook hands with Cook. And the applause of the full gallery is going on. The salute of the visitors to the gallery filled with the Oval never ends. Everyone is standing and clapping. His wife and two children were also present. Cook took off his helmet, raised his bat and responded with congratulations. Batting partner Joe Root came and embraced with passion and love. He may whisper, "Or a legend like you deserves such a farewell."

Cook left the field after scoring 146 runs. The hero finished the last innings of the last Test of his life with a catch behind the wicket by Hanuma Bihari. Centurion Root also broke the 259-run partnership just before the ball. However, these are just the side characters of the screenplay. The main character is Alastair Cook, who made his 33rd Test century at the age of 33. He will never play again after the England jersey. But he will be a part of English cricket forever.

Since the outcome of the series was pre-determined, the Oval Test was just a 'Cook's farewell match'. He did not fear that the farewell would be different! In the first four Tests of the series against India, Cook was at bat. 13, 0, 21, 29, 17, 18 and 12 were his innings. After the Southampton Test, he announced in a hurry that the last Test of the Oval series would be the last match of his career. The whole cricket scene was playing a sad tune with the farewell of this opener in Ranakhara. In the last Test, he changed it with a great bang.

Even if he scored 61 runs in the first innings, he could not help but cry for not getting a century. In the second innings, there was no room for regret. Just did the century. He started his Test career against India a decade ago with half-centuries and centuries in two innings. The same goes for the last Test of his career against the same opponent. The legend has such a reputation as the first batsman in the history of cricket. And he is the fifth addition to the Centurion's elite list in the first and last Test. The first batsman on the list was Reginald Duff of Australia, the last Test he played was in 1905. The second name on the list is William Ponsford from Australia.

The third was Greg Chappell's last Test match of his career in 1984. After three Australians, the record is held by Mohammad Azharuddin, the former Indian captain, although he could not say goodbye like Cook. Coincidentally, his last Test was the Bangalore Test against South Africa in March 2000, in which he scored 102 in the second innings. After 16 years, Cook made his name on this rare record.

In the last innings of his life, he overtook Kumar Sangakkara to become the fifth highest run-getter in Test history. Sachin Tendulkar (15,921), Ricky Ponting (13,37), Jacques Kallis (13,269) and Rahul Dravid (13,26) are the next highest run-getter in Tests. Cook also snatched the record for most Test runs from a left-hander, saying they were all right-handed. The English opener owns the country's highest Test runs and has played the most Tests for the country.

He has also led England in a maximum of 59 Tests. He has 32 Test centuries in his career. However, Cook's ODI and T20I figures are not as rich as those of the Tests. That is probably why he has played 92 ODIs and 4 International Twenty20s. Has been playing regular international cricket for 12 years. But at just 33 years old, he made a difficult and difficult decision for cricket fans. And if he had played for a while, he would have grabbed some more records. But he did not settle the matter and announced his retirement.

He was greeted on Twitter by former and current cricketers and cricket commentators. Michael Vaughan said: β€œNo other player has paid more than him after the England jersey. No one could play better than him in terms of strength. No one else has the mental strength that Alastair Cook has shown. Out of all the cricketers we have got he is the most subtle of them all. Thank you Cook for giving me so many memories. ”

Boria Majumder said, β€œAlastair Cook, one of the best cricketers, has announced his retirement from international cricket. He is a terrible cricketer in England. In my opinion, he played his best against India in 2012 against Spin. Good luck to him. ” Hersha Vogle said, β€œWhat a great career Alastair Cook has had! He is one of the best in England. He is retiring with great pride in what he has achieved in his career.

Mind legends may never be forgotten. There is no better farewell than this! Alastair Cook wrote the screenplay of his glorious farewell with his own hands. That screenplay will be a lifelong memory in the hearts of millions of cricket fans. Maybe the favorite cricketer will never be seen on the ground again. His eye-catching batting cannot be seen. But yes, he will always be seen in the hearts of millions of cricket lovers. Cook has always lived in the hearts of millions of cricketers. That residence is permanent, there is no leisure, no farewell. Lifelong history and cricket lovers will live among these people.
