In Test

India is the only team in the history of Test cricket to have lost four wickets without adding a run to the scoreboard. They faced this embarrassing record in their second innings in the 1952 Headingley Test against hosts England.

After collecting 293 runs in the first innings, they started the second innings with only 41 runs behind. Pankaj Roy, Dutt Gaikwad, Madhav Mantri, and Vijay Manjrekar returned to the dressing room without adding any runs in the face of the bowling cannon of Alex Bedsar and Fred Truman. Truman took three of the four wickets.

In ODI

Apart from this, there is only one case of losing four wickets for less than four runs in Test cricket. England lost four wickets for just two runs against South Africa in Johannesburg in 1999. Pakistan holds the record of losing four wickets for the fewest runs lost in ODI cricket. They lost four wickets for just one run against the West Indies in the 2015 World Cup.
